Adam Duvall slugged his fifth career grand slam and added a two-run homer, leading the Miami Marlins to a 10-2 win over the host Chicago Cubs on Friday night.
Duvall went 3-for-4 with six RBIs, three runs scored and one walk. It was also his ninth career multi-homer game.
Miami's Jon Berti added a three-run shot for his 11th career homer. His first career homer was also at Chicago's Wrigley Field, on May 6, 2019.
Joc Pederson hit a pair of solo homers for the Cubs, who have lost four of their past five games. Pederson has 11 homers this season, including seven this month.
Marlins rookie right-hander Cody Poteet, recovered from a knee injury and pitching for the first time since June 4, lasted just 3 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on Pederson's homers. He struck out five and walked four.
Reliever John Curtiss (3-1) earned the win, pitching 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
Zach Davies (4-4) took the loss, allowing a season-high eight runs in six innings. He had allowed just five runs in his previous five starts combined.
Pederson hit Poteet's second pitch of the game for the homer that gave Chicago a 1-0 lead.
However, Miami took control of the game with a five-run third inning. The rally started when Jorge Alfaro's line drive -- which had an exit velocity of 108 mph -- struck Davies on his right thigh.
Cubs trainers ran out to check on Davies, who remained in the game but then allowed a single to Berti and a walk to Jazz Chisholm Jr., loading the bases with one out. Starling Marte then fell behind in the count 0-2 but worked an RBI walk to tie the score 1-1.
Then, after Jesus Aguilar popped out, Duvall drove a 1-0 changeup over the fence in left for a 5-1 Miami lead.
Pederson homered again in the bottom of the third with the longest drive of the night -- 435 feet.
But Miami put the game away with Berti's homer in the sixth and Duvall's second of the night and 14th of the season in the seventh.
