Toronto Maple Leafs forward Pierre Engvall will have an NHL Player Safety hearing Friday after slashing Los Angeles Kings defenseman Sean Durzi in the head Thursday night.
Engvall received a game misconduct for the incident at the 1:07 mark of the third period in Toronto's 5-0 home victory.
After a collision between the two players near center ice, Engvall raised his stick and chopped Durzi on the back of the head, knocking him to the ice.
Engvall, 26, has posted seven points (four goals, three assists) and 21 penalty minutes in 27 games this season, his fourth with the Maple Leafs.
