VIENTIANE, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Laos' Ministry of Health continues efforts to raise public awareness about the dangers and consequences of drug use, emphasizing the need for collective action to implement the national agenda for effectively addressing the country's drug problems.
The discussion, aimed at mobilizing civil servants, students, and the wider community to understand the health and social consequences of drug use, took place in Vientiane on Wednesday and was chaired by Lao Deputy Minister of Health Phayvanh Keopaseuth, according to Vientiane Mai newspaper.
The meeting emphasized that combating drug problems is a shared duty across all sectors to protect young people. Noting Laos' strategic location as a transit route for illegal drugs, Phayvanh urged participants to foster greater societal awareness.
