PHNOM PENH, June 4 (Xinhua) -- An agreement was signed here on Thursday for Cambodian projects with support from the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Special Fund 2026, said a Cambodian foreign ministry's press release.
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin attended the event and delivered speeches.
Sokhonn said the special fund has delivered long-term, tangible benefits to Cambodians and people across the LMC countries.
"This special fund plays a core role in supporting Mekong region development projects that promote regional integration and sustainable development for all member countries," he said.
Wang said the LMC has prioritized regional development to build a community with a shared future, delivering tremendously tangible benefits to local populations.
"China remains committed to collaborating closely with Cambodia and other Mekong nations to advance the LMC, ensuring these projects deliver maximum benefits to the region's population," he said.
The LMC countries include China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
