BEIJING -- China will see more favorable conditions than unfavorable ones for economic development next year, as positive factors supporting high-quality development continue to accumulate, according to a Chinese official.

SEOUL -- South Korea's corporate net profit fell last year on the back of the underperformance in the manufacturing, construction and communication industries, statistical office data showed Monday.
The combined pre-tax net profit of 13,825 local businesses, which exclude those in the finance and insurance sector, came to 197.34 trillion won (152.1 billion U.S. dollars) in 2022, down 24.99 trillion won (19.3 billion dollars), or 11.2 percent, from a year earlier, according to Statistics Korea. BEIJING -- China's commercial vehicle sales jumped 44.6 percent year on year in November, industry data shows.

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's economic growth remained strong in 2023 despite weakening global demand and a slowdown in real estate, a government official and experts have said.
Economy and Finance Minister Aun Pornmoniroth said the economy was expected to grow by 5.6 percent in 2023, pushing up the Southeast Asian country's gross domestic product (GDP) to 32.17 billion U.S. dollars. (Cambodia-GDP-2023)
