Mark Jankowski scored two goals in his first game with the Carolina Hurricanes and fellow newcomer Logan Stankoven also scored in a 4-2 victory against the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday in Raleigh, N.C.
Seth Jarvis scored an empty-net goal and Frederik Andersen made 20 saves as the Hurricanes extended their winning streak to four games.
Alex Iafallo and Adam Lowry scored late in the game for Winnipeg, which received 23 saves from Connor Hellebuyck. The Jets lost for just the fourth time in their last 17 games.
Jankowski, who was acquired Friday at the trade deadline from the Nashville Predators, scored one goal in each of the first two periods. He entered the game with four goals in 41 games this season.
Jankowski's second goal came when the puck bounced in off his skate in what became a pile-up in the crease.
He followed an 11-game stretch without a goal by scoring Tuesday night at Boston. After one more game, he became a member of the Hurricanes.
Only two other players have scored multiple goals in a Carolina debut.
The Hurricanes traded away highly regarded Mikko Rantanen to the Dallas Stars on Friday after he scored two goals in a 13-game stay with the team. Now, Jankowski has matched that in one game.
Stankoven joined the Hurricanes as part of the Rantanen trade.
Stankoven scored on a power play 2:34 into the third period. He was stationed in front of Hellebuyck and redirected Shayne Gostisbehere's delivery from inside the blueline. Stankoven has 10 goals this season.
Scott Morrow, a defenseman in his fifth career NHL game and third of the season, posted his first career assist on Jankowski's first goal.
Andersen was in range for his second shutout in 13 games this season, making a stop in the third period on center Cole Perfetti's breakaway. But Iafallo scored with 2:46 remaining and then Lowry posted a goal with 52 seconds left.
