New Delhi [India] March 26 (ANI): Punjab Kings (PBKS) secured a narrow victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) in a high-scoring encounter in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday. Following the match PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer expressed his thoughts on the match, he wanted to set a big target for Gujarat Titans because they have a strong batting lineup and in IPL, any game can turn around. He encouraged his teammate Shashank Singh to go for big shots, telling him not to worry about his own hundred, as he would get it in the next match, Shreyas Iyer said as per a video post by IPL.
'The interaction we had in the mid was to post a massive total on the board because we knew Gujarat Titans have a solid batting lineup and in IPL it's not over until it's over. I just asked him to go for big shots Don't look at my hundred I will get it in the next match.' Shreyas Iyer said as per a video post by IPL.
Shreyas also spoke about his conversation with Priyansh Arya, that he should not go ahead in the game and control his shape while batting as much as possible. Shreyas also praised Shashank's batting in the previous IPL season calling it very motivational for him and told the importance of the 44 runs Shashank scored.
'I asked Priyansh not to go ahead of the game and to control his shape as much as he could. I got motivated by watching your batting last year which gave a solid confidence, to be honest, also the way you came in and smashed the bowl from the third bowl it's easy for a batsman to come and score at that position it's those 44. Runs which you made created a lot of impact and I hope you continue with your form.' he added.
Shreyas Iyer led his team to a thrilling 11-run victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday. Iyer played a match-winning knock, remaining unbeaten on 97 off just 42 deliveries.
Shashank Singh also played a very impactful innings of 44 runs in just 16 bowls smashing the bowl right from the beginning of his innings. Shreyas and Shashank, the dynamic PBKS duo, raised 77 off the last four overs to leave GT rattled in their home den. (ANI)
