JJ Bleday went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Gio Urshela knocked in two with a sixth-inning triple as the visiting Athletics earned a 3-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday.
Osvaldo Bido (2-1) threw 5 2/3 quality innings for the A's, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out none and walking one. The Athletics' bullpen combined to pitch 3 1/3 scoreless innings, helping the club post its third win in four tries.
Athletics closer Mason Miller shut down the White Sox in the ninth, striking out the side on 12 pitches to earn his fifth save.
The visitors will shoot for a three-game series sweep on Thursday.
Jonathan Cannon tossed 4 1/3 scoreless innings for the White Sox, allowing three hits while striking out four and walking two. Lenyn Sosa tallied a pair of hits and Brooks Baldwin's solo home run accounted for all of Chicago's scoring as the White Sox dropped their third straight game.
Chicago struck first on Baldwin's leadoff blast in the third inning, his second of the season.
Bleday doubled to open the fourth and advanced to third on a wild pitch, but Cannon retired the next three batters to keep the Athletics off the board.
Cannon was replaced with one out in the fifth by Tyler Gilbert (1-1). After retiring both batters he faced in the frame, Gilbert allowed base hits by Tyler Soderstrom and Bleday in the sixth, with the second driving in the game-tying run.
Jordan Leasure then relieved Gilbert and walked Miguel Andujar. One out later, Urshela's triple to right gave the Athletics a 3-1 edge.
Jose Leclerc pitched the seventh for the Athletics and loaded the bases with two outs after Sosa's double was followed by walks issued to Omar Narvaez and Nick Maton. Tyler Ferguson replaced Leclerc and escaped the inning unscathed by inducing a groundout from Luis Robert Jr.
