New Delhi [India], April 17 (ANI): After the completion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), former South Africa wicketkeeper-batter Mark Boucher praised left-arm speedster Mitchell Starc's clutch performance in the final over of the clash on Wednesday. Boucher was speaking on Kuhl Fans Match Centre Live on JioHotstar.
Mitchell Starc's brilliance in the 20th over took the Rajasthan Royals vs. Delhi Capitals match to the first super over in their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium here.
RR required nine runs from the last over. Starc bowled a brilliant over, giving only eight runs, hence the match went to a super over. In the Super over, RR finished with 11 runs, setting a target of 12 runs for DC.
KL Rahul and Trishan Stubbs came to bat for DC, and Sandeep Sharma was bowling the super over for RR. Rahul and Stubbs finished the match in 4 balls.
Starc bowled exceptionally well in the 20th over and in the super over of the 32nd encounter of the ongoing 18th edition of the cash-rich league, where he gave away just eight runs and 12 runs respectively. The 35-year-old snapped one wicket in his four overs, where he conceded 36 runs. He took the wicket of Nitish Rana in his spell.
Speaking exclusively on Kuhl Fans Match Centre Live on JioHotstar, JioStar expert Mark Boucher said, 'Starc was exceptional in that final over. He's had an up-and-down season so far--got hit early with the new ball--but in those big moments, you look to your senior players. And he delivered. He nailed almost every delivery. This is exactly what you expect from someone with his experience and value. He got his field placements spot on and executed his plans to perfection. That over got Delhi Capitals back into the game. Once they clawed back, you just felt they had the edge over Rajasthan Royals in the Super Over--they had the better combination,'
With this terrific victory, the Axar Patel-led side has moved to the top spot of the points table with five wins and 10 points in six matches. They will now take on the Gujarat Titans. The match will be played at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, March 19. (ANI)
