The Saskatchewan Roughriders will look to record their first win in Montreal since 2021 when they visit the Alouettes on Saturday night.
Let's rewind nearly four years to when Saskatchewan last emerged victorious in Montreal. For starters, current Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris was under center for the Alouettes in that game.
Far more recently, Harris completed 25 of 33 passes for 268 yards and two touchdowns in Saskatchewan's 21-18 victory over the Edmonton Elks last week. The Elks erupted for 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to give the Roughriders (6-1) something to think about this week.
'It's just more of a mindset thing to make sure we're staying aggressive,' Harris said, per the Regina Leader Post. 'Staying foot on the pedal because if you're up 21-4 in the fourth quarter, you shouldn't let a team get to 21-18.
'It's your job as an offense to stay on the field and put more points on the board and extend the lead, so that the game doesn't come down to needing a game-winning sack or needing a great punt.'
Harris' 11 passing touchdowns trail only Hamilton's Bo Levi Mitchell (15) for the top mark in the CFL.
The Roughriders' KeeSean Johnson has reeled in 39 receptions this season, third best in the CFL. He has totaled at least four catches in each game.
Montreal (5-2) notched its second straight win with a 23-21 decision last week over the Calgary Stampeders. McLeod Bethel-Thompson stepped up in place of the injured Davis Alexander and completed 30 of 40 passes for 280 yards and a touchdown for the Alouettes.
'He made some big throws at the end,' Alouettes general manager Danny Maciocia said of Bethel-Thompson, per the Montreal Gazette. 'We converted some second downs, kept them off balance with quick throws and flip screens, and had our run game going. We took a couple of shots downfield. We kept them on their heels, and that's what we wanted.'
Tyler Snead had seven receptions for 103 yards for the Alouettes.
