Jordan Beck homered and singled, Warming Bernabel continued his hot start with two doubles and a single, and the Colorado Rockies beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-5 in Denver on Saturday.
Orlando Arcia also went deep, Mickey Moniak had two hits and Jaden Hill (1-0) pitched one inning of relief for Colorado, which ended Pittsburgh starter Paul Skenes streak of scoreless innings at 18.
Rockies reliever Seth Halvorsen left with an apparent elbow injury after throwing five pitches to open the ninth inning.
Liover Peguero hit three home runs, the first career multi-homer game, and Bryan Reynolds and Isiah Kiner-Falefa had two hits apiece for the Pirates.
Skenes didn't give up a hit until Beck's one-out single in the fourth, and Bernabel followed with a double. Skenes escaped without a run when he threw out Beck at home on a comebacker, then struck out Brenton Doyle.
Peguero hit Austin Gomber's second pitch of the day 410 feet into the stands in left for the first leadoff home run of his career, and he hit a three-run homer in the fifth
Gomber allowed four runs -- three earned -- on five hits over five innings.
The Rockies ended Skenes' scoreless streak in the sixth. Moniak led off with a single, Tovar walked and Beck followed with his 13th home run of the season. Bernabel doubled to end Skenes' day.
He allowed four runs on five hits and struck out eight in five-plus innings.
Colorado continued the rally against Braxton Ashcraft (3-2) with consecutive singles by Thairo Estrada and Doyle to tie the game. After a strikeout, Austin Nola doubled to drive in Estrada, and Doyle scored on Arcia's groundout.
The Rockies tacked on a run in the seventh when Tovar led off with a single, stole second, went to third on an errant throw and scored on Bernabel's single.
The game went into an hour delay for rain before the top of the eighth and Arcia hit a solo homer in the bottom of the inning. Peguero went deep with two outs in the ninth, his fourth homer of the season.
