Wilmer Flores' two-run shot capped a three-homer first inning for the visiting Giants and Robbie Ray fired 6 2/3 solid innings in San Francisco's 4-3 victory over the San Diego Padres on Monday.

Ray (10-6) allowed just three hits and three unearned runs while walking one and striking out six. Ryan Walker got the next four outs, and Randy Rodriguez pitched the ninth to bag his fourth save.

Arizona starter Nestor Cortes (1-2) lasted 5 2/3 innings, permitting four runs on seven hits and four walks while whiffing five. Cortes didn't allow a run after the first five batters of the game, but that was enough to get him beat.

Heliot Ramos led off the game with a solo blast to left, his 15th of the year. Rafael Devers followed with his 24th homer, a no-doubter over the wall in right-center. After Casey Schmitt doubled with one out, Flores lofted his 13th homer over the wall in left.

Given four runs before throwing a pitch, Ray cruised for most of his outing. It appeared he allowed a leadoff homer to Xander Bogaerts in the second, but replay officials ruled that Ramos' attempt to catch the ball was obstructed by a fan reaching over the wall.

Bogaerts was called out after a review, and San Diego manager Mike Shildt was kicked out for arguing the ruling.

Until facing Bogaerts in the seventh, Ray allowed just one hit -- a two-out single by Manny Machado in the first. Bogaerts doubled and scored when Jose Iglesias' grounder to third was booted and then thrown away by Schmitt for two errors.

Pinch hitter Ryan O'Hearn cashed in Iglesias by rifling a two-run homer to right-center, his 15th of the year and second with the Padres, to knock out Ray.

San Diego got the tying run on base in each of the last three innings but couldn't advance a runner into scoring position. Iglesias singled with one out in the ninth off Rodriguez, who induced a popup from Freddy Fermin and a shallow fly ball from O'Hearn to end it.
