Patna (Bihar) [India], September 15 (ANI): Taking a dig at Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Monday said that even after putting in all the efforts in Rahul Gandhi's Voter Adhikar Yatra, the former's leadership was not given due respect by the Congress leader.
Paswan said that it's quite natural for Tejashwi Yadav to be sad after 'getting ignored' by Rahul Gandhi.
When asked about Tejashwi Yadav's latest remark 'Tejashwi will fight on all 243 seats' remark, the Union Minister said, 'Bihar's opposition leader gave his all for Rahul Gandhi's Yatra. He was even driving Rahul Gandhi's car. He followed him wherever he was going. Even after doing all this, his leadership was not accepted by the Congress. No due respect was given to him. So it's natural for him to feel this way.'
The RJD leader's comments come ahead of seat-sharing negotiations between the parties of the Mahagathbandhan alliance for the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls
Meanwhile, on Indian cricketers refusing to shake hands with Pakistani cricketers during an Asia Cup fixture, Paswan said that the Indian players did the right thing, and through this gesture, they paid their respects to the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.
'If you are shaking hands with someone and the same people are attacking your family members and killing them, then such pictures could surely upset their feelings. The game had to be played, and our players respected it equally and played that game with the same spirit and by winning, our players definitely respected those victims in a true way,' he said.
After India emerged victorious against Pakistan, Captain Suryakumar Yadav returned straightaway to the dressing room with his partner Shivam Dube without the customary greeting with the Pakistan team. Suryakumar said, 'I feel a few things in life are ahead of sportsman spirit.' (ANI)
